On social media you see trips to the Bahamas with private jets and free clothes and jewelry. You see these “influencers” who are working and engaging with you 24/7 and showing a lifestyle that you always dreamed off. For example, getting free clothes just for an Instagram feed which may pay you how many followers you have.
That life is all fake. According to many interviews on podcasts, influencers would have to take 7 to 8 pictures in a day to post to improve their engagement. It’s a full-time job than your average 8-hour job. It comes with its ups and downs as sometimes you may not get good engagement which will force you to work harder.
According to a recent experiment most influencers are from the age 18 to 25 but there are also those who are kids. They are teenagers and sometimes even younger. Overall, the authenticity which you see and follow online is probably not even real.
We had many reality shows come out about these influencers. They are doing so much better than normal teenage shows that we used to watch! “D’amelio show” being one of them having their second season coming out soon they show most of the negative side of social media. Most of them are crying and affected by the trolls and non-supportive people. The others want luxury lifestyles and retire early in life so that they will be swimming in money for the rest of their life.
It’s very clear that people thrive on being “famous”. At this point in time the most famous location in LA is a pink wall. Being a person who had parents who lived there for a long time and goes every year it shows how times have changed as everyone wants to take selfies for what a like or comments and interaction, money and finally the lifestyle. This shows that what all you see may not be the truth sometimes these influencers cannot even get out of bed like us as they are tired but have no choice but to post and keep engaging or else they don’t make money and live the lifestyle they want and show.
